Bang & Olufsen Beoplay E8 2.0 Review
From first sight the Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay E8 Earphones exude style & class, but as one of the most expensive earphones on the market, do they perform as well as the price tag suggests?
As you would expect, tuned by Bang & Olufsen’s acclaimed acoustic engineers, these wireless earbuds make no compromise on sound quality. Their focus is to deliver sound experiences designed to be as natural and balanced as possible. The tones are crisp & the bass is not overpowering, adding a quality of depth that lower-end devices struggle to achieve.
If the 'out-the-box' sound balance is not to your taste, Bang & Olufsen's Beoplay App allows you to modify your listening experience using 'ToneTouch'. This basically acts as an interactive simplified equaliser, so you can modify the tone to suit your situation with ease.
Bang & Olufsen have implemented simplistic user-friendly features which make these earphones a joy to use. An intuitive touch interface lets you activate all your favourite features with just a tap on the earpiece. This includes navigation to play/pause and change tracks, take calls and activate voice commands.
Bang & Olufsen’s ‘Transparency Mode’ means you can remain aware of your surroundings whilst on the go. Simply tap the earpiece when you want to let the world in for a moment, then tap it again to return to your music. There are three settings available (ambient, social, and commuting), which are easily customizable using the B&O App.
Designed by the award-winning Jakob Wagner, one of Bang & Olufsen’s featured designers, there’s no doubt that these are one of the most classy and sleek looking earphones on the market.
Constructed using premium grade aluminium & leather, with splash & dust resistant IP54 certification, these stylish earphones can perform to the maximum in any environment.
The earphones, which have 4-hours battery life, neatly tuck away in a premium leather case which holds 3 full charges, meaning they can last for 16-hours playtime in total.
The carry case is also Qi-enabled meaning you just need to place it on a wireless charger to power it up.
Included in the box are five different ear tips for perfect fit and user comfort. We found the foam tips to be the most comfortable, especially when we tested them during a workout at the gym.
As with all products from Bang & Olufsen, their attention to detail on design and superior sound quality is why they can command such a high price. From the earbuds, to the carry case, and even the B&O wireless charger pad, these really are a genuine piece of craftsmanship. The BeoPlay E8 Earphones are worth the money!
